Walleffects use only the highest quality Stucco Italiano polished plaster. Italian Polished Plaster is often referred to as Marmorino, Stucco or Venetian plaster in Italy.
The 3 main types of polished plaster we use are:
Classic Marmorino which has the shiniest reflective smooth surface. The level of shine and smoothness is achieved by the skills of the experienced artisan. Most commonly used in feature areas or focal points. A natural lime polished plaster.
Carrara Marmorino is slightly coarser in texture to the Classic leaving a matt shine but with a similar smoothness. Carrara Marmorino has a cold stone-like feel to the touch and is popular where customers want classical high quality polished finishes.
Metallic Marmorino is based on the Classic marmorino available in gold, silver and copper colours. This is a very soft shimmering marmorino suitable for prestige areas within any building.
Extras
Additives such as black sand, terracotta powders, glitter and metallic waxes can be added to marmorino to achieve many different style finishes. Marmorino created in two or more colours is possible. Polished plasters are suitable to use with the Intonachino for banding or other design details.
